All Things Being Equal: The Man Who Knew Infinity
We were thrilled to discuss the historical drama The Man Who Knew Infinity, a popular film among our community. In 1913, Srinivasa Ramanujan, a self-taught Indian genius, traveled to Cambridge where he forged a lifelong bond with his eccentric math professor, G.H. Hardy, while fighting a world that refused to acknowledge his achievements. Ramanujan is perhaps the most mystical and mysterious figure in mathematics.

All Things Being Equal: Secrets of the Surface
We were so happy to celebrate both Pi Day and Women’s History Month with a discussion of the film Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani. Mirzakhani was both the first woman and the first Iranian to be honored by mathematics’ highest prize, the Fields Medal.

All Things Being Equal: Navajo Math Circles
Navajo Math Circles is a one-hour film that documents the meeting of two worlds: that of some of the country’s most accomplished mathematicians and math educators, with the children and teachers in the underserved, largely rural Navajo educational system. Math itself is a cross-cultural language, and the film is designed to inspire cross-cultural understanding on multiple levels.here
